Unfortunately after the super strong start, I felt the book really drug on and on through the middle. I really felt like the world was built great, and the premise really went super unique with the angels and demons concept adding just enough new things to not make it stagnant at all. I'm looking forward to reading the next one.Īvailable to read and listen via KU. The budding romance between Mason and Jess could have had a little less angst and back and forth for my taste but I expect that it will flesh itself out in future books. Now the pieces just need to be assembled to fix the problem - seems straightforward. I like the premise of this book and the author did a good job of giving it a direction. It turns out that Jess is even more than she seems. Mason believes Jess might be the key he has been searching for over 15 years to find. He heads up a special group that is investigating the Tear in the hopes to close it. This year, an altercation with a Tearer leads her to meet the Watcher, Mason. Her job is to find these Tearers and help acclimate them to a new life on Earth. They were among the first victims of the annual tear between realms that randomly transports people from Earth and replaces them with "Tearers" from other realms. Jess Riley became an agent of the Watcher Agency in the hopes of finding her parents one day. What happens at the end of the trilogy is explained fairly early in Broken and I would hate for the ending of Forgiven to be ruined for you.

But if you are interested in reading The Watchers Trilogy, I would recommend you not read this new series until you have finished Forgiven.

It is not necessary to have read The Watchers Trilogy to read The Watcher Chronicles.

Broken by past events in their lives, they each struggle to overcome their fears and find the strength to take a chance on one another. Mason and Jess instantly find themselves drawn to one another but they both resist their mutual attraction for different reasons. When the leader of the Watchers, Mason Collier, recruits her to join his team, Jess quickly discovers she is meant to play a major role in sealing the Tear forever. Now twenty-two years old, Jess is an agent working for the Watcher Agency searching for a way to bring her parents back home. On the night the Tear first appeared, the Watchers, a mysterious group of men possessing supernatural powers, made their presence known to the leaders of the world, earning their complete trust to deal with the turmoil the Tear caused.

At the tender age of seven, Jess Riley’s parents were ripped out of her life by the Tear, a ripple of white light in the sky which randomly transports people from Earth to alternate realities and distant planets once a year.
