Steven did a great job ordering in the bike spec’d as I wanted and kept me well informed throughout the whole process. Overall purchasing experience has been great. It’s amazing, I can’t wait ride! So safe, so comfortable, so quality, so amazing! Thank you! I’m writing this review after riding the heck out of my bike, hundreds and hundreds of miles, and after years of blissful use. Two bikes, a few years, hundreds of miles, they just go. Everyone can recognize how beautiful they are, how comfortable they are, and they’re just gorgeous. I literally cannot wait to buy more bikes (next a cargo?). This company product is phenomenal and the customer service is spot on. I can’t say enough good things here, I’m surprised and pleased every time I pedal. I’ve ridden all over major US cities, in all weathers, in all conditions, and it just rides like a dream. It came, I assembled it (made little personal fit adjustments) and have simply been riding since.

I got them decked out double kickstand, full wired lights, shiftless transmission, seat suspension, and locking chain. It’s been two to three years and now I have two of these bicycles one for me and my spouse. Of course, I always tell people how great the bike is, I show off the unique aspects, and I tell them how great the customer service is in case they ever want their own. It gets quite a bit of attention and questions. I live in the United States and there is nothing like my bike in the town where I live. I’m that type of rider but my Dutch bicycle is more fun than I ever imagined it would be. If you are the type of bike rider who loves high speeds, going as fast as you can, aerodynamic bikes and all of that, you might think a Dutch bicycle is too pedestrian for you.

I have three road bikes and a time trial bike but, quite frankly, my Dutch bike is unsurpassed in how enjoyable it is to ride. You can read about Dutch bicycles or look at pictures of them but until you ride one you cannot really appreciate how nice they are. The bike itself is high quality, user friendly, comfortable, and beautiful. Assembly went well following the video and was actually enjoyable, getting to see the parts and components. It came as expected, packaged safely and neatly. In terms of receiving the bike, everything was easy and laid out nicely. Once I purchased the bike and received it he continued open communication with me to make sure everything was just right. I was in communication with him via email and telephone. Steven was so helpful in making sure I purchased the right bike for me with the right options and accessories. I had a wonderful experience with each and every step of buying my Ameland. In my opinion, if you live in United States and are interested in owning authentic, beautifully-crafted, substantially-built Dutch bikes, Amsterdam Bicycle Company LLC and Steven Verschuijl are the obvious choice to help fulfill your Dutch bike dreams.

I just had to install the front fender, front tire, seat, handle bars, pedals and connect the electrical wire running from the hub dynamo to the front light. Our bikes sustained no shipping damage and came mostly assembled. Time-in-transit Hoogeveen, The Netherlands to Beaufort, North Carolina, USA was just just five days. The current production time is 10 to 12 weeks, but once bikes come out of production, the TNT/FedEx shipping is amazingly fast. We chose, for the two of us, Azor Amelands - “the modern and luxurious incarnation of a classic Dutch Oma-fiet” - and couldn’t be happier. One quickly loses all apprehensiveness after the very first email exchange with Steven. The glowing reviews Steven Verschuijl receives regarding his excellent customer service and attention to detail are no exaggeration. After research and reading of reviews, it quickly became apparent the obvious and logical choice to fulfill our international bike order would be Amsterdam Bicycle Company LLC. So, it was with some apprehension we decided to order bikes direct from The Netherlands. As far we know, they’re simply not to be found in bike shops here in America. Upon becoming aware of Dutch bikes and desirous of procuring two of them, my wife and I looked (without success) high and low in the United States for genuine Dutch Oma-fiets.
